Problems like a pilot that won't stay lit, a bad thermostat or a failed heating element can usually be repaired. Water pooling under the tank, rusty hot water, or a tank that runs out of hot water much faster than it used to often point to replacement, especially on an older unit. We work on traditional tanks, tankless systems and high-efficiency electric heat pump models. In most Dayton-area homes it's in the basement or crawlspace where the water line comes in. If water is near the water heater or electrical, turn off power to that area. A pump that runs nonstop can have a stuck float switch or a failed check valve, or it may be too small for the water coming in during heavy spring rain. A pump that never runs may have lost power, have a jammed float or have a burned-out motor. We install, maintain, repair and replace sump pumps.
