Common plumbing questions
Something else on your mind? Call (937) 210-4386.
How do I know if my water heater needs repair or replacement?
Problems like a pilot that won't stay lit, a bad thermostat or a failed heating element can usually be repaired. Water pooling under the tank, rusty hot water, or a tank that runs out of hot water much faster than it used to often point to replacement, especially on an older unit. We work on traditional tanks, tankless systems and high-efficiency electric heat pump models. See water heaters.
What should I do if a pipe bursts or I have a major leak?
Shut off the main water valve right away. In most Dayton-area homes it's in the basement or crawlspace where the water line comes in. If water is near the water heater or electrical, turn off power to that area. Our hours are Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM. Call us at (937) 210-4386.
Why does my drain keep clogging?
Kitchen drains usually clog from grease and food, and bathroom drains from hair and soap. Wipes are another common cause, even the ones labeled flushable. If several drains back up at once or the same clog keeps returning, the problem is often further down the main line. We use drain cleaning and inspections to find the cause and clear it. See drain and sewer services.
Do you handle sewer line problems and backups?
Yes. We clear backed-up drains and sewer lines and inspect them to see what's wrong. When a line is broken or collapsed, we handle the excavation and underground repair. See drain cleaning and excavation and sewer line repair.
Why does my sump pump run constantly, or not at all?
A pump that runs nonstop can have a stuck float switch or a failed check valve, or it may be too small for the water coming in during heavy spring rain. A pump that never runs may have lost power, have a jammed float or have a burned-out motor. We install, maintain, repair and replace sump pumps. See sump pumps.
Which towns do you serve?
We work in Dayton, Washington Township, Centerville, Kettering, Miamisburg, Bellbrook, Springboro and Oakwood. If you're nearby and not sure, call (937) 210-4386 and ask.
