Water Softener & Filtration

We install water softeners and filtration systems for homes dealing with scale buildup and off-tasting tap water.

Hard water is common in the Springboro area and across much of the Miami Valley. You see it as white crust on faucets and showerheads, spots on dishes and glasses, and soap that won't lather. It also builds scale inside your water heater and fixtures. Some homes also deal with tap water that tastes or smells off. We install water softeners and water treatment and filtration systems. A softener removes the hardness minerals that cause scale. A filtration system targets taste, odor and other things in the water you'd rather not drink. Many homes need one or the other, and some benefit from both. We'll talk through what you're seeing, how your household uses water and where the equipment can go, then recommend a setup that fits. Financing options are available. Softer water also helps your water heater last longer, since scale is one of the main things that wears down tanks and tankless units.

Common questions

What's the difference between a water softener and a filter?

A softener removes the calcium and magnesium that cause scale and spotting. A filter is aimed at taste, odor and other contaminants. They solve different problems, which is why some homes use both.

Is hard water a problem around Dayton?

Much of the area draws on groundwater that is high in minerals, and hard water is common in Springboro and nearby towns. If you see crust on fixtures or spots on dishes, you're likely dealing with it.

Does hard water affect my water heater?

Yes. Minerals settle in tanks as sediment and build up as scale in tankless units, which makes the heater work harder and can shorten its life. A softener cuts down on that buildup.
